Early 1940's photos

Great collection of pics. Noticed a few things that stood out to me. Knowone was smiling in those days except the tank crew, No fat people, Mike Rowe would have been in 7th heaven, seams that all jobs were hard and dirty then, In the descriptions rather than saying a family fishing along river it said Afroamerican family sort of singling them out as diff.
Back then I was not quite a twinkle in my fathers eye, but My dad and mom tought me the values of hard work and appreciation for what we had. Todays generation doesn't have a clue what it took to build This country, and it has become a nation of consumption, waste, coruption, and lazyness. These IDIOTS in Washington, both sides of the isle are running this country rite into the ground. I'm glade that I'm as old as I am, because I think there are some really tough times ahead for this country, and only people our age still know how to survive and provide for ourselves anymore.
Thanks again for the trip in history.

Crem: Wowzer... (a word used back then) Real Cool words used now. I really enjoyed looking at those pictures and they reminded me of many events in my own life back then. THANK You..

Ps: pix 65 was a "North American A-36 Apache" (Invader) (google those words in quotes) The quick hint is the Air Intake on top just behind Prop spinner. The British recieved many and renamed their batch "Mustangs" and the Army used P-51 then. Later the Brits put in a Spitfire V-12 R/R and it became one of the best very long range WW-2 fighter Escort aircraft. I was lucky enough to go on 5 straffing runs in a P-51. Best flight of my life. ag
