MF 3165 ( gas ) tractor starter

I need to replace starter on my FM 3165 tractor.It has been converted to 12V elect. system. The existing numbers on starter are very hard to read. Would anyone know a part # for Delco-Remy starter and a solenoid?? Teeth number? I don"t want to take the old starter off until I find a new one. Size 71/2" long by 4" diam. The numbers I can read are

108), (K80) and (5). Your help would be appreciated. Thanks. Josef

I'm 99.99% certain that 3165's came from the factory with a 12 volt system. Maybe your old starter can be repaired for less than the cost of a new one? Take it off and go to an auto electric shop. They can tell you what's wrong and if it needs to be replaced. They should be able to match it up as well. If it doesn't work right, it has to come off anyway. Dave

You'll save a lot of money and aggravation by having your original starter rebuilt. The last MF tractor starter we had redone was $135.
