O/t insect control

We live on an acreage and for some reason this year the spiders,ants,etc are bad,and now the grass hoppers are moving in from the corn that is on 3 sides of us. What would be the best thing to spray with for control? The neighboring farmer said he would get me some Lorsban. Good,Bad or something better out there? Thanks in advance

Lorsban is pretty potent stuff. It is effective on both ants and grasshoppers but read the label carefully. There is a 4 day re-entry interval into the area after spraying...

Yea, it's real good on the insects, but be careful with it as it can be real bad for you or pets or etc. if you misuse it.

Many people use it for critter control (off label, not allowed...), if that tells you anything on how potent it is.
