do all 6 cyl mags rotate the same way? i have a engine that turns left handed and want to mount a mag on it insted of a dist.
 
No all mags don't rotate the same direction, mag rotation can be changed by changing the internal timing but this requires a manual to do it right.

There's a little more to it than that, sometimes it's not even possible for a given mag.

I have some 6-cylinder Bosch mags that can be set up to operate clockwise or counterclockwise.
 
well i dont know witch way it turns right now. i dont have the engine hear now. its corvair 110 hp that iam thinking of converting to aircraft use and thay all use a distrbtor on all the outher conversions. but i dont wasnt to use a battery. i want to keep it light and hand prop it. ya i know iam nuts. thanks for all your help. Bob

Hi Bager Bob, for your use you will a lot better off going with a Slick or Bendix aircraft mag and yes any of them can be changed from CC to C rotation BUT as the BOB pointed you have to have the proper impulse for the rotation desire That's why I advised having a manual. There are hundreds of Slicks and Bendix mags avail with the rotation you need so there would be no need to change one.
And yes some mags may not be reversible.
