Hello all, I'm working on a Cockshutt 540 and think I'm need of some timing gears. Is there anyone who still supports these old engines (the closer to Eastern Canada the better) or am I hunting for used parts? Also are they interchangeable between the F162 and the cosmetically similar F140? Many thanks, Sam

Now you need to check with a forklift rebuilder. The gears may or may not be the same. Due to the fact that some of the F model engine drove a good size hydraulic pump off the cam there were also steel cam gears. I am in Western Ohio and I do have a source. He will probably have both new & used gears in stock. Send me your email address. J.

Hopefully my email address is attached to this message somewhere. I imagine that I'm looking for the stronger gears as I think that the live hydraulic pump that runs opposite the governor is the cause of my issue. I'm not yet sure that it is timing gears but the pistons go up and down and the cam doesn't turn. Many thanks, Sam

as far as used parts.the f162 and f163 engine was used for many years in lincoln sa200 welders

Look for a shop that works on Lincoln SA 200 welders. They are rebuilt all the time and there are thousands of them out there. Dave

I dismantled 2 CONTINENTAL 4 cylinders f163 and have 2 timing gears with 2 different # on F124H-401 AND F124H-302 with 48 teeths
