Old, How is Son Doing in Navy?

Last I heard he is doing just fine. He will be coming home on leave the last of Oct. or the first of Nov. for about a week maybe 2 then going to Spain in Dec for 6 months or so. Rota Spain to be exact which is a place I have been before back when I was in the Navy
 
Floor crawling what did you drink 1 to many or did you get in trouble or both?? I know back when I was there we got stranded there for 24 hours because of a storm. The Carrier I was on headed home with out us and the next day they flew in a helo to pick us up. First and only time I have been on a Helo.
 
I remember a time in San Diego when they moved up our departure a few hours- after half the crew was already out on the town for liberty. The guys that didn't get the word were written up for missing movement.
 
old it might have been a little bit of both. All I can remember is crawling to the head. Then waking up on the ship the next morning. USS SARATOGA CVA 60
 

Never in Rota but did some time in Palma Spain.........lots of float time in the Med in the 90's.........hated it then but fond memories now.......too bad My carrier is at the bottom of the sea now.......good ol USS AMERICA!!!!!! (CVA66)
 
Rota was our first stop after 17 days crossing the Atlantic on a Minesweeper.Spent 6 months on our Med. cruise, had a blast. USS Salute MSO-470
 
I think all of us who were in the service, did some things in foreign countries we wouldn't want Mom to know about. Stan
 
Ya Rota is the first place you stop at on the way in the the Med and the last place when you leave. I spent about 9 months in the Med on the JFK CVA67. Got to see a lot of ports in the med but the one I liked the most was Plama Myyorka (sp)
 
Never was to the Med. I was in WestPac.from 1971-1975 aboard the USS Coral Sea CVA-43. She"s razor blades now. It was Subic Bay P.I. for liberty while in Vietnam. Lots of memories from there.
