Continental engines

I'm trying to track down a few tractors with Continental motors. I know that MH has several as well as the MF 65 and Cockshutt 540 but are there anymore? Most of these are 4 cyl but which ones have a 6 cyl and are all these motors up to parr for the good reputation of Continental?
In the Pertronix catalogue I have, I see a reference that an Oliver 33 has a continental motor; could this be a combine or harvestor?

Thanks

My one BIL has a 180 Massey gas that had a Continental engine. His dad bought it new. When I went to overhaul it I couldn't get parts because this model of Continental was unique to this one tractor model. It wasn't put in forklifts or anything else. I found out the first 180 gassers had this engine and then they went to a Perkins gas. I believe his is the 82'nd 180 built if I read the serial # right. BIL's relative was the head of Massey's parts division at the time. He couldn't find parts and no aftermarket suppliers listed this model. I ended up converting it to a Perkins diesel, which made it a much better tractor anyway. Jim

doug, i think all the oliver 70's had 6 cylinder continentals and maybe the oliver 44's and 440's had 4 cylinder continentals. chuck

4 cylinder = Earthmaster C & D. Massey pony and pacer, also Massey 81 101 jr 20 21 22 23 30 33 44(4) 55. Allis Chalmers G. Oliver 44 & 440. Farm Master. Intercontinal. Silver King. Case V. Several others.

6 cylinder = Massey 101 SR. 44(6) 202 203. Oliver 70. several others.

LIke you said, the Oliver 33 was a combine.

Continental made a lot of engines. Are you referring to all tractor engines or just flat head engines? Most of the MF tractors with gas engines had Continental's and there were lots of models. Dave

Early Allis Chalmers U and UC used Contintental 4-cylinder engines. Also the Farmall 350 Diesel was a 4-cylinder continental engine.
The Oliver 33 was a combine.
The Ferguson T0-20, TE-20, To-30 all used continental 4-cylinder engines.

I've heard the claim that the 70 used a Continental engine too. However,in the 1935 Nebraska test of the oliver 70, they state "Oliver equipped this tractor with their own six-cylinder vertical engine of I-head design". Could the "design" have been continental built by oliver? JIm

My International 350 Utility Diesel has a Continental Diesel with "Energy Cells"- interesting design, with great fuel economy

The G206 Continental that was put in the 180 was also put in the 175. Most parts from a G176 which was put in the 165 will work. I have a 175 with a G206 and it is a good engine. I switched to electronic ignition and made it even better.

For some reason Continental had very few engines in the older tractors--teens, 20's, maybe early 30's or so...
National, Ultimate, United and Watson are the only ones on my list, but I'm sure it's not complete, and, as mentioned, builders that used Cont'l's didn't always admit it...
I've always assumed Cont built higher rpm car and truck engines, not the larger bore slow-speed tractor engines of Buda etc.
