Have not been around any new stuff but the older disk mowers were the same critter as many older NH and JD models. I squeezed the last of the life out of a GMD66, was a great mower and did a great job for what it was.

(Around here many older NH and JD mowers have parts on them from the Kuhn dealer cause they cost alot less.)

Brother got a kuhn 283 rtg, loves it, if you buy older make sure to get the update kits, but they got the new ones all figured out. Great machine.

I think they are junk neighbor had a Kuhn disc mower i dont remember the model one bearing went out under the disc you have to completely disassemble to get to bearing so be prepaired to replace all bearings when one goes out, would never buy one personally, stick to New Holland or New Idea thats just my opinion

Who do you think built them for NH for 20 years?

Bearing failures in Kuhn mowers are from a lack of oil. Sometimes they leak. Sometimes they just aren't maintained...
I can tell you that I've had far worse mowers than Kuhn. PZ comes to the top of that list...

Kuhn is probably best disc mower on the market... The new ones replace bearings from the top..Have gone through 3 of new style and never replaced a cutter bearing...Had one New Idea was changing bearing all the time and the first one in the first year..Had little shafts going from one cutter to other, when they start wearing all the cutters get out of time from so much slack. I think they realized they were not putting enough grease in gear box, but the Kuhn's are tough..tried a Morra once they stood behind it good but it would not stay together, but for someone just cutting their own it would work..
