PTO over-run clutch

OK guys, what am I missing here? Took this thing apart to see why I couldn't get it to function, cleaned it up and I can't see any way that this thing is held on to the PTO shaft of the tractor. The only thing not shown in the pic is two short pieces of roll pin I removed from the heavy piece that inserts into the main part. It looked like they had been sheared off (??) inside the piece that slips onto the tractor PTO. Any ideas?

You take the grease zirks out and the roll pin drives in through the hole through the hole in your pto shaft to hold the overrun on. center it up good and make sure it isn't catching the outer housing, then put the zirks back in.

The roll pin Jeff describes is 5/16" diameter and if I remember right 2 1/4" long. Kinda hard to find a straight punch to drive it out with bacause of the hollow center of the pin. Might grind a 5/16" long bolt down a bit and use that. TSC had them as I recall. ohfred

You know, I thought about that and then thought "no way, that would be way too complicated". Guess that roll pin must have sheared, that was why there was a small piece in each side of the interior housing. Thanks a million for the reply. Now to put it back together and try it on for size.

Fred, not a problem. Bought a big roll pin punch set at a farm auction a couple of years ago. Used one to drive out those pieces. Good to know the measurements. If it was too long I guess you would have no choice but to drive it completely out and start over with a shorter pin. Amazing, I think I learn something every time I get on this site. Thanks.
