I recently aquired a 1939 Farmall H. It has no serial tag on it where it should be. I wired brushed it down and it doesn't look like there ever was a tag. My first question is, did they not tag some of the early ones? On further investigation I cleaned off the boss on the engine block and the tractor # is FBH636 it is also stamped on the frame rail. Can anybody tell me if the tag could be somewhere else?

(quoted from post at 12:17:50 07/15/10) You havw a prize there as the first one is 501 and early were stamped on the frame.

Correct. The very early Hs did not have a tag. The number was stamped on the frame rail.
