ATV sprayer tank

I have a poly atv sprayer tank mounted on the back rack of my atv. I had it fastened down with 2 -1" ratchet straps. The other day I noticed a puddle underneath. I have a crack in the bottom about an inch long where it has been fastened down too tight on top of a ridge at the back of the rack. Any ideas on salvaging the tank, or do I just bite it and try to find a new tank. Thanks for any info.

i too have a tank on my atv,..but i mounted it on 2 boards to keep it from rideing on the metal pipes, been useing it for 5 years now..i do have a new 15 gallon tank if you're not to far away

You can buy new tanks pretty cheap at northwest tool.They send catoluges out all the time around here in ohio.They have online sales also.

I tried a number of sealants with no luck. Crack was where the helicoil inserts were on the bottom. Then I read that "Seal All" from Wally world would work. applied one coat one afternoon and another the next day. Cured it another da y And Vaoile, It's tight as a tick again.
Comes in asmall black and yellow tube. Let us know how it works for you.

I second the seal-all. Comes in different size tubes snd get it at most autopart stores or hardwares also.

Mount it on a treated plywood platform or something to hold it better next time? Mine's mounted like that and Lord knows it's been bounced around a lot and the tank is still holding.
