My old 656 Farmall loader tractor is on its last legs, so I"m shopping for a replacement. The tractor will be used mostly for moving snow in the winter, along with some minor lifting chores the rest of the year. I haven"t seen or read much on here about Kubotas. Are they any good for loader duty? And what"s their record on reliability? Their price seems agreeable. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks for any input.

i've owned 2 and they held up real good, can't seem to wear them out, both loader tractors, parts never seem to be a prob....

Sold KUBOTAS for 28 years..Get you a 4 wheel drive with the loader then the next question is what transmission..Lots of people like the hydrostatic i personaly like the kubota glide ship transmission in any advent get swomething with the ability to go backwards without using the clutch..You will love it..Jerry

I bleed blue but my first tractor was a 1986 19 horse Kubota. It cost me $13,000 with loader and hoe. I put 1100 hours on it in 15 years and added three tractors during that time. when I traded up to 30 horse they allowed me $10,000, works for me.

I'm on my second 30 hp kubota loader tractor. Traded the first one in and got almost what I paid for it on the second new one. That worked for me too! I have not had any repair bills out of the ordinary on either one. I like the hydo trans but I just use it for mainly loader work.I had the first one for ten years and going on six years for the second one.

I recently bought a Kubota. One thing that impressed me is that Kubota only sells what it makes - Every Kubota is made by Kubota. A lot of other brands are made by whoever low bids. They also have a very good resale value.

If you're looking to replace a Farmall 656, tractor for tractor, you're going to need something bigger than a Kubota with hydrostatic. A 656 puts out 66 HP pto and high 50s drawbar. That's up around what a Kubota M7040 would be. Kubota hydrostatics are L class. Not really rated for farm use. They are great tractors no matter what size.
