Shear Pin Adaptor to Spline?

I have a free driveshaft that has a 1 3/8+ACY-quot+ADs- smooth end with a 1/2+ACY-quot+ADs- diameter hole for a shear pin. The other splined end has a quick release for attaching it to the pto. I can use my brothers rotary cutter, but it has a splined male end at the gearbox with a 1/4+ACY-quot+ADs- hole through it. One option is to get a slip clutch with a smooth end for the shear bolt and a female splined end for connecting to the rotary cutter. Another option would be to change the yoke to a splined end, but then there wouldn+ACY-quot+ADs-t be any weak point to +ACY-quot+ADs-shear+ACY-quot+ADs- or +ACY-quot+ADs-slip+ACY-quot+ADs-. +ACY-lt+ADs-p+ACY-gt+ADs-Is there an adaptor that has the following: One smooth 1 3/8+ACY-quot+ADs- diameter male end with the 1/2+ACY-quot+ADs- diameter hold for a shear pin and one female splined end with a quick attach button? This seems like it would be ideal.

Your message came through with a lot of 'extra' charachers in it, to the point of being hard to determine what sizes of shafts & holes you are looking for.

Perhaps you'd like to try again, keep the text simple so it is readable.

You are looking for one adaptor with both a male & female coupler, and a 1/2 inch shear pin hole someplace as near as I can figure out? I don't really follow where the shear pin hole is supposed to be.

Well, the solution is obvious. Take your ACY-quot+ and grind a 1/4+ACY off the OD and that will give you the quot+ADs that your looking for. Worse come to horrible, take an 1 3/8+ACY- and drill a 1/2+ACY-quot+ADs hole through the center.

most drive shafts now days are metric but getting the righ half yoke and changing it out is no problem and the correct way to solve the problem. You will probably trash the u joint so when you buy the yoke get you a joint and fix the thing.

Not sure what happened with those characters. Let me try again. I have a 1 3/8 inch smooth yoke on a new driveshaft that was given to me. This end has a 1/2 inch hole for a shear pin and is most likely for a rotary cutter. My brothers rotary cutter has a splined shaft coming out of the gearbox with only a 1/4 inch hole through it. It obviously should have a slip clutch on it but he lost the shaft somewhere. I was looking to see if there was an adapter that had a 1 3/8 inch solid male end with a 1/2 inch hole for a shear pin on one side and a 6 splined female end on the other. It seems like this would allow me to use my driveshaft with the shear pin instead of changing the yoke to a splined end and purchasing a slip clutch. I don"t really want to get into a $40 yoke and a $140 slip clutch. I may end up welding a round stock to a weldable female spline adapter. Any thoughts?
