True John Deere Green paint

I have several old two cylinders and have painted them all my self, but when going to shows i notice several different shades of John Deere Green is there any one that is correct

One correct OLD color, and one correct NEW color. I'm not positive of the year, think it was mid 80's, but Deere changed to a slightly brighter green to stand out a little more.

The Ag Green and Classic Green, both currently sold by Deere, are the two most common colors. The Classic Green is a deeper, more olive-green.

As far as "correct"... that's like asking which religion is correct.

Deere (and most tractor manufacturers) were not entirely consistent with their paint back then. It could change slightly from batch-to-batch and year-to-year. For any particular tractor, your best chance is to find an protected section (like the underside of the hood) and match it.

Most of the guys I know think that Classic Green just matches faded paint, and not the original look.

I have been told that the two cylinders should be painted classic green. Anything from there on out should be painted the brighter color green. This would be way before the 1980's that the color switched. It would be the new generation tracotrs in the 60's.

Generally Tremclade JD green and TSC JD green vary from the real JD colours. Plus they can change with exposure to sun and weather.

Most all of my tractors were painted with JD paint available at the time they were done. Most all of them were also done before "classic" came out and there are still several differant shades to them. So JD paint did differ over the years.

I have this exact same problem with Allis Chalmers tractors... There's about 6 different shades of orange colored WC, WD, etc. tractors at shows. And I can't even tell which one is truly correct.

I appreciate all the responses and i agree there isnt one right paint, but i had a guy tell me mine were too light and his were right but i just thought i would get some other input on the color
Thanks Again
