Ot truck clutch ???

Am I getting ready for a new clutch. My 1999 Ford F350 4x4 6spd with 251K miles on it is getting hard to put in gear at times.Any clutch that was bad or week I have owned in the past would let out High when nearing it's life . This one is the other way.It has always let out off of the floor real short. Lately it is really short coming off of the floor. Almost as if I cut the floor mat out it would help. I have only added fluid once in it life time about 5 years ago.The pedal feels the same as always and not sponge. So I do not think it is air.I hauled two tractors with it a couple a weeks ago and found know slipping at all.It seems the farther you go and the more gear changes as things warm up it goes in to gear harder.I think it is cable operated to the slave cylinder thus no visible adjustment to it but I might be wrong. At times I am a little slow and things right under my nose I can not see.So is my clutch giving me the pre warning for an R&R or the pressure plate getting week or something stupid right under my nose. Thanks for any help.

Yeah, it's probably in it's last stages if you're running out of pedal. That seems to be how hydraulic clutches go...
Time to get it done before you trash the syncro's in the transmission.

Have you checked to see if the nylon bushing is not worn out? (if they still use them)
My 95 and 97 had a lock/bushing that connected the peddle to the master cylinder rod, and they would wear out to where it would feel like the clutch was going. A quick look under the dash is worth the hassle of remaning the clutch.
I only had to do this a few times and both trucks had 'bout 275K when the disk got worn too far, But that all depends on how it's driven

If you do R and R to the clutch and machine the flywheel I was told you need to shim the flywheel out the same amount you machine off of it if you have a hyd clutch set up. If you do not do this the clutch will be at the floor like it is now. Not sure how true this is, but that is what I was told.

Thanks guys that was what I thought it was about the end of the road for this clutch. So it will get it and a new oil pan at the same time. Bruster about a 100k miles ago I replaced the complete pedal assembly because the nylon bushing was tougher then the aluminum pin that held the cable. It wore it thin and broke off.I was on the road on business and could not fix it my self so the ford dealer put in a complete pedal assembly instead of welding in a new pin .OUCH on that one.I did check it last night.

usually it the clutch doesn"t slip and with that many miles it would be the synchronizers they ar brass and the little teeth were off making it hard to shift. or my second bet would be slave or master cylinder.
