Had a miniature plow day for some friends to get thier plows ready. Ground plowed good, but it was very damp air with heavy stubble in spots. The 14" plows had a little trouble. The 16's faired a little better. This is in central Ks.

It was a lotta fun. It was overcast and about mid 80's for temp. Had a lot of plugs in the early going, especially with the lower clearance 14" JD plows, but finally got the stubble dried down enough to go without plugging. Little River is about 50 miles southwest of me, btw. Bob

Recognize Bill and Jerry. Who are the others?
Looks like fun. Supposed to be a plow day a mile north of Nickerson next Saturday, but with all the rain the past two days it probably won't be dry enough.
Spent about 5 hours plowing up terraces last week and that WAS NOT fun.

My brother is on my 60. It was my Grandad's tractor. His son is the one on the A. He's 21 now, but at 10 he had cancer so bad they told my brother and his wife the little duffer would probably not make it through the night. He not only made it, but has been cancer free for several years. He had lymphoma and luekemia. He!! of a mess to see a kid go through. However, he came out of it and loves to run my old tractors, so the Doc's must have done something right. The one picture is of me on my 60. I must have been camera shy and was looking down. I gave up my 500 Case to my Brother for a few rounds.

Hey, Lloyd, I've lived in Ellsworth Co. most all my life. Very familiar with the Holyrood area and have many friends over there. We live 1 S and 11 E of Holyrood. Do you have relatives there?
Doug, I'm 13 miles from Bushton. Know many good people around there also. Same question for you; any relatives around Bushton?

All that's left there is a niece in great bend.

Would of loved to stay & farm but big debt (to buy) &/or rented ground means a hard life with not much but work.

I joined the US Army Infantry in 63 & retired in 84. Really thought that all the way through huh.

Biggest part was the mold allergy to hay & wheat used to only put in 1/2 a day in the hay fields. Not much choice but to walk away.

Really nice pics. I wish I could have been there with you with our Case 411B and 3B mtd case plow. Looks like you all had a great time. Best wishes from central NY.

I think you are right that it will be too wet next weekend to plow around Nickerson. I live in Hutchinson and have dumped 5.35 inches of rainfall from my gauge today, rain which started on Saturday.

The corn and milo were dry and needed this for sure.

Only guy I knew from Holyrood was Paul Rickets, the drive-in and theater owner. I think he left Ness City and retired there.

Thanks for the photos.
