duetz allis hay tedder or rake?

this spring i bought a duetz allis 2 basket supposely tedder/rake combo but all i can see it does is rakes .the basket on the left(setting in the seat looking forward)turns clock wise the other turns counterclock wise they both bring the hay toward the center making a windrow am i doing something wrong os is it just a rake? thanks

Is it a haybob style rake tedder? To ted you move the pin on the tines to the other position and spin it up faster. They sometimes have windrow formers to help with raking but they usually disappear over time into the scrap pile.

If you tip it forward (by adjusting the toplink), it will throw the hay around behind it like a tedder. Run it at higher PTO speed to throw it further behind.
