Okay is it seven year or seventeen year locusts?

I'm sitting on my back porch tonight and heard locusts chirping and noticed many holes by the trees today which is usually a sign. She says they should be 17 year locust. We had them about 7 years ago.

17 year unless you got the second shift locust..they show up in the seventh year.

Each year a new crop of 17 year old locusts hatch into winged adults & start the cycle all over again.

There are 13 year cycle locosts in some parts
of the country, and 7 year cycle ones in other parts, along with the 17 year ones.

Thanks guys, I do know that locust cycles vary from area to area so my life calendar is screwed up since I left my home town and now unless I stayed in one place more than 17 years.
