Kubota air conditioner question

Neighbor has a Kubota M9000 (or M6000?) tractor and has been having trouble with the air conditioner. Put the gauges on it and with the engine revved up and air on, it has 20 lbs. on the low side and 375 on the high side, clearly blockage in the system. Now, the question is, does anyone know where the orifice tube/expansion valve is located? The only possibility I could see was at the filter-drier, but that doesn't make sense to me. I'll be at work today, so I'll thank-you in advance for any info. Any help would be appreciated.

The blockage sounds like plugged condenser fins or clutch fan free wheeling too much. High side is high, low side is about normal. If the expansion valve were plugged, it would have low pressures on both sides. If the refrigerant can't get from the high side to the low side, the compressor has nothing to work with and the refrigerant condenses in the condenser. With airflow through the condenser, the excess heat is removed bringing the high side down. Since little refrigerant is making it's way to the low side, the compressor easily keeps the evaporator empty bringing the low side down.

Real simple see it every day on the Kubota 9000 series you have AIR restriction in the condenser.. AND THE ONLT WAY to get it clean is remove the basttery and use a fin cleaner to every fin.. Labor and time intensive.. but it is the only fix please trust me 28 years Kubota experience and when these 9000 series came out almost had to keep a mechanic in the fieal with some of them in early days untill we figured out hod to get the air flow and keep out the dird..
wHAT HAS PROBABLY HAPPENED IS SOMEONE HALY WAY WASHED IT OUT then all those weed seed just swell up and block everything.. get it clean and unit preasures will get back to normal.. email open Jerry

Machine did not fail only the operator failed to service as per the operator manual...However to correct the problem latter models were made with a course (more open) evaporator.. helped solve the problem but still requires cleaning very often in adverse (hay field) conditions.
just won,t work without air flow...THRU the evaporator

I agree with jm as my Kubota M4900 cools adequately if I keep condenser clean but it quits cooling with the least amt of dirt. IMHO the condenser isn't very large and neither is the radiator but the tractor was cheap.

jm was exactly right, went back to the neighbor's today and while at first glance, the condenser appears to be clean, a closer look with a flashlight shows that it is in fact packed with all manner of dirt and debris. Thanks to those of you who offered suggestions, you were very helpful. It's easy to forget to thoroughly check the simple things before thinking about tearing into something.
