Two of my High School friends are on the Bisbee,AZ list.Brings back very fond and very sad memories. GOD Bless ALL of our service men and women. My son will retire in Sept. after 20 years. He wanted to stay longer but he got tired of the year long deployments.

I'll have to check for Bisbee, ND (my hometown) on the list. I understand the founders of the two towns were related. Do you live at Bisbee, or close by?

The best vacation we ever took included a stay in the Copper Queen Hotel and a (tourist's) tour of the nearby mine in Bisbee. I too have friends on that list and there's a moving tribute to his brother written by a cousin of mine that I went through BCT with in 1967.

Thanks for helping us remember the ones who fell for our country. There are two young men on that list that I knew. One is a friend from church who taught me some tricks on trapping muskrats. It was hard for me to come to grips with the fact that this friend with whom I shared time with along a peaceful stream died in a war half way around the globe. The other was a couple of years ahead of me in our tiny school where everyone was like family.

Sometimes my dad starts reminicing about the friends he lost in WW2. Will the new generation being born today be reminded of the sacrifices these young men made so many years ago?Jim

Sad to say. List is not complete. Friend of mine Robert A Norris was killed in Singapore aboard the USS SARATOGA CVA60. In the fire that was set by someone. But since he was not in the combat zone he is not counted on the wall.

You gentlemen here are to be commended. I am of the younger generation. I will be thirty this month. I was raised to Stand when the national anthem is played. I shake the hand of any service man and thank him for his service. I knew that my father , AKA JD seller, served in Vietnam. He would not say much about it though. I have met many of his friend that where over there. In the last several years Dad has started to talk a little about it.
I think that our country treats those that serve the country badly. If you are killed fighting for this great nation your family should be taken care of. It does not always happen that way. Did you know that life insurance is void if you are killed in combat??? A local man was just killed in Iraq last year. He was forty years old with a wife and three kids. His reserve unit was called up. His house was mortgaged, like most of us, he had life insurance. His wife is now facing bankruptcy. She has three kids under ten. The government surviver benefits are worse than welfare. We are collecting a fund to pay her house off.
The government has the money to bail out the unions and banks but not to take care of the families of our fallen soldiers.

Lost six friends in Nam, five that were in Special Forces, one a friend from Basic. Photo is of a mass grave at Arlington, they were on a SOG mission in Cambodia, when the US was not officially there. Boronski died in that one- BNR for about 30 years. Others were Railley, Crone, Sisler (CMH), Dan Monahan, Stice. Virtualwall.org is a valuable resource.

My thanks to you sir for the reminder.

Much of what we enjoy today is made possible by the blood, sweat, and tears of those that were before us.

..and of course, God's blessings.
