886 I.H. Milky Oil

Well, I know this is not a good thing, but here's what I got going on. Changed oil in it two weeks ago, and it was black like normal. Put new oil in, have run it maybe an hour since oil change. Was going to bale hay today, and like I make a habit of doing, I checked the oil before going to the field. When I pulled the dipstick, it was milky white and about two quarts above full. Checked the antifreeze, and I can't see the level in the radiator. Anybody have any thoughts? I'm thinking blown head gasket, cracked head or block, or electrolysis? I'd welcome any insight anyone may have. Thanks

I would say that you have the 360 engine in it and i would say that either the sleeve o/rings are leaking or ya got pinholes in the sleeves and she will need a over haul .

When the oil cooler fails, the oil goes into the radiator. Unless you have less oil pressure than cooling pressure.

when you shut engine off oil press goes to zero and there is still press in the cooling system for a while.I have seen oil coolers leak water into oil.

Which engine? American 360 or Kraut 358? If its the 360 I would bet pin holes in a sleeve. If its the 358 it will be sleeve O-rings. Since it happened a short period of time I would say you have the American 360 with pinholes in a sleeve. Plan on a overhaul.

To answer, yes it is an American made 360 motor. Sounds like sleeve is the problem. Gives me something to look for, thanks for the replies.
