8N Electronic Ignition Conversion

Just purchased an electronic ignition (6V pos ground) from YTC for my 8n. Had front mount 6V coil. Anyone with ideas on the best place to mount the new coil? Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Arrrgh.
If you haven't opened it send it back and buy the 12 V kit. 12V conversion and EI and you will probably Never have to touch your electrics again other than replace the battery. I can not give the same exuberant recommendation to a 6V EI system.
Some of the dinosaurs here are gonna goad you and inveigle you into thinking 6V is cool and EI is not. But don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Conventional wisdom on the N Board is that if your are going to do EI, then also do 12 volt. EI and the front mount dist and 6 volts is not a great comboination.

Water under the bridge... Information on this site, led to my decision to upgrade from stock 6v to EI. All items opened and installed except coil.
Does the 12v conversion require an alternator or replacement of my current generator?
Don"t really want to waste the $175 for the 6v kit. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

assume you have the 1247XTP6?

I have seen many locations used. Some good, some not. In addition to those pictured, I have seen the side of battery box, zip tied to spark plug wire tube, attached to oil filter mounting bolts, etc.
where yellow blob is, would be my preference
