John Deere 70 speeds

Can anyone tell me the speed of a 70 JD in 3rd and 4th gears? The corn has jumped with all the rain and it's tall enough I need to use the 70 and the old sprayer with drops to get it sprayed. I'm thinking that 3rd is 5 mph, but not sure. It's a gas with a serial number below 7000 if it makes any difference. Thanks, Chris

can you time it?drive 100 ft or yards(i cant remember),tine the time required to go the distance, there is a formula to find mph.see adealer, chemical dealer,ex agent, etc.i have used this method on my superH and SuperM.2nd=4mph,3rd=5mph at full throttle.I wish I could be more help.
