Kelpler tractor

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help.
I have just been offered a 1949 German tractor called a Kelpler, it is a single cylinder deisel water jacket tractor with about 20hp its colour is green with red wheels. I havent been able to see it yet as it is quite a drive away and I cant find it on the internet can anyone enlighten me

Not being able to find it on the net (I didn't) is a good indication it's not the correct name...
It's not on the lists of former or present tractor mfrs's (admittedly never complete) and it doesn't show as a German language word...
Another possibility is some kind of specialty or special-use vehicle (one cyl??)that wouldn't show up on the usual lists, but no web hits is a bad sign...
If nothing turns up here, and the name is verified, run the members list on smokstak (you may have to register, but it's free) as they have members in the UK and on the continent (German George comes to mind) who might be helpful. Fascinating. Good luck.

Thanks noncompos, I am going to try and see it at the weekend so I will have a better idea of exactly what it is, I will also take some photos and post them up out of interest

Should've thought to suggest it could be a Lanz, a one-cyl built in Germany, called both a diesel and a semi-diesel.
Don't know anything about them but should be lots of info, and probably pix, on the web. Let us know what it turns out to be.

Been to see it, its a kaelble very rare they mainly made trucks. It is in good condition but I have not heard it run yet. I will make an offer and let you know how I get on.
Whish me luck
