OH Boy, I talked to you about corn before and ours looks good, real tall. Have you ever tried eating any of it? Dry weather has hurt our sweet corn and the other is about to its mutton stage and thought we might try some of it. What do you think?

Dry weather would be a nice change here in nw-ind/ sw-mich. I think we are up to 18 or 20 inches in the last 2 months. Had 4.5 inches in an hour and a half here!

If you are talking about eating field corn- it has been done. A little more doughy but you can eat it.

I tried it a couple of times but it never tasted too go to me.

I did grind some into cornmeal and liked that pretty well. Made excellent cornbread and also cooked as grits.

When I was a kid, we always ate field corn. I didn't know what sweet corn was until I got away from home. Don't know what it tastes like now. Corn has changed in the last 50yrs. I have planted some red sweet corn this year. Don't know if it is related to Indian corn or not. If the coons don't get it, we'll see what it tastes like in a couple of weeks.

It is fine to eat. The only problem is that the time that it is good is real short, just a few days. Field corn matures quickly through the tender stage. We eat some each year. If you like a sweet taste just add some sugar in the water as you boil it.
