Value of a loader

I have been looking at some used tractors that have a loader attached which I certainly would want, but just wondered how much it would add to the value over one without. Local dealer says he can put me a loader on any small tractor 25hp or under for 3500 bucks providing it has the hydraulics for it. That sounds steep but it might be a fair price. But it looks like some folks want that much over a normal tractor value on a 10 year old tractor with over 1000 hours on the clock. Just curious.

Depends on age, size, condition, quick-tach or not, attachments...
I paid $700-750 for a non-quick tach Ford 772 loader for my Ford 4600 (52 h.p.) about 10 years ago, used it hard, and sold it for about $500 two or three years ago. The new Westendorf TA26 that replaced it is quick-tach and has a quick-tach bucket and bale forks...and set me back about $4800.
