atv sprayer

I'm looking into getting a sprayer for the back of my ATV but was wanting some opinions on weather I should get a boom less one or one with a boom. I'll be using it to spray the weeds in the horse pastures.

Thanks,

Kelly

i like my boomless one, it allows me to spray through fence lines and between trees in the pasture without worrying about damaging the sprayer

Reliable story is that boomless works good in the open field until about a ten mph wind then it isn't worth a hoot. I went boomless, and therefore will only spray when it is relatively calm. If you can work around the weather (wind) it's a good choice.

I really like my boomless for fence rows. Throw in some Roundup, only turn on one side and drive and it doesn"t matter if the crop gets it or not. Roundup ready varieties obviously. I spray a few paths with 2-4-D to keep the poison ivy and broadleafs out and just use the middle nozzle. I think it"s pretty handy. No more booms to dink with.

I had a 10ft boom on my 4 wheeler fot 15 years. It worked pretty good.I had the booms rigged so i could go between trees and they would just fold back. I got older and tired of spraying with a 4 wheeler, all the backing up and getting around trees.I now have a gator with a 40 gallon JD sprayer on the back. The spray boom is the width of the gator, but sprays 10 ft.Its a lot easier to use and drive. It has a hand boom for tight areas and to get close along the edge of a driveway.
