O/T:Long month so far....how about you?

Hard to believe that it's already the solstice! Haven't been online lately except to check the weather. Now we've got an entire week of HOT dry weather. Should be able to knock out an entire field I've been working on. I've got someone else who wants me to look at some hay. I probably will, but my kids are getting tired of this routine and I need to go back to my day job and earn some do-re-me.

I guess I've missed a lot on this site since I have been working....

How has your summer been going?

PS- My daughter baked me TWO Dutch apple pies for Father's day. I had mentioned that I wanted a couple of pies that I didn't have to share with anyone. Now I don't know how I'll eat it all! LOL! I guess I'll be sharing it anyway.

Geez,you have been gone for a while. Saying that you're getting some hay up could get you a butt kicking from some of us. Haven't got anything up yet without rain,and that ain't much. Weather guesser just said there's about 6 good chances of storms in the next week. I've got hay on the ground right now and about 95 acres to cut yet. This is getting real old.

Not to mention how bad I need to get some Roundup on some corn where the nutsedge is real bad. There's water standing right between the rows in that,so if it canopies in the next week or so,it just might have to go ahead and do what it's gonna do as is.

But,on the bright side,the boys took me to Pondorosa for supper,so even though I'm not getting anything done,I'm well fed.
 
All the hay I've put up so far has been rained on at least once. The weather guessers call for three clear days, so I cut some. In the evening I check and there they've gone and changed it to a 'slight chance' of showers or thunderstorms overnight. Wake up in the morning to wet ground and wet hay. Oh well!

We're still trying to finish planting beans around here, and we got another 1-1/2" Friday night. Gonna be some awfully stemmy hay made this year, if it gets made at all.
