1954 Farmall Super C hydraulic pump problems

I have a 1954 Farmall Super C witha fast hitch. a few years ago it was lent out to a tobacco farmer and ever since we got it back it hasnt run until last summer when my cousin and I got her running again. We found out that the hydraulics didnt work. fist we thought it was just a bad seal or two, but then we added some more fluid and it worked. What we didnt know is that the hydraulic fluid leaks back into the crankcase. last week I put a new gasket on the pump where it meets the engine. I thought that was what was wrong with it, but after wheel harrowing with it today i found that the fluid leaked back into the crankcase. Any suggestions on what the problem is?
 
You need to pull the hydraulic pump and check item No11 for a groove worn by the old seal. You may have to install a speedi sleeve to cove the worn area. Napa should have the speedi sleeve. They may have a repair kit for the pump. Hal

Thanks but I'm not so sure the pump I have matches this. I looked at the pump just a minute ago and the only name I fould on it was ALCO. The only pumps ive heard of on a super c were pesco and thompson. So I'm not sure what to do
 
Call the American Lubricating Company to see if they made your pump. They do make ALCO hydraulic
oil. I would still pull the pump and carefully disassemble it. You may still be able to get a speedi sleeve to fix it and a new o-ring if that's used as a seal. Hal

Where that No4 old seal rides on the shaft of No11 when the pump is assembled. That's usually where the wear occurs. Then your hydraulic oil will leak into the engine. If there's no wear I would just install a new seal and reassemble it. Hal
 
Your speedi sleeve will cover that area and with a new seal No4 it will stop the hydraulic leak into the engine. Hal
PS: I would try to prime the pump in clean oil before installing it. Hal
