Most miles on a stock pick up truck?

Just wondering, who out there holds the record for miles on a stock vehicle? My HD Chevy has 152000. How about you?

I have a 95 S-10 with HO 4.3 auto 4X4 extended cab. 270,000 original engine, tranny, differential and front and rear differentials.
I run Mobil 1 and change the transmission oil at 75,000 miles. This is the toughest pickup I have owned takes lot of rough use and never let me down.

I parked the family mini-van (3.1 V6) at 262000 miles and it was still running fair. Had the heads off at 187000 miles for a broken head bolt putting coolant in oil.

465,000 on a 1984 Ford Econoline inline 6 automatic when we finally retired it.
Knew of a Mercedes Benz 220D with over 1,000,000 on it.

I got a 92 S10 with 274,000 miles, and still runs great... 4.3 liters of awesomeness....

Its just been wrecked once. Or twice. Okay, its on its third front end... Haha...

1990 light duty Chevy (six lug axles) 2500, 350 automatic - 278,986 miles transmission went out, other than change the oil every 5000 miles, and basic mantance it was original. traded it in on a new Dodge when it was $3000 push/pull/drag in deals. dealer sold it locale and still see the truck once and a while in the winter dealivering firewood. Good truck, would buy another but the Chevy dealer wouldn't take it in on trade.

I have 2 1996 chevy k2500s and one has 330,000 the other has 275,000 on original motors. A guy I work with has an 2004 that has 420,000 and is all orignal and still runs like a top!!! I could name a dozen or so over 200,000 half a dozen over 300,000 and even a few over 400,000. All our company's work trucks are chevys and if ya take care of them (even towing) they will usually outlast the sheet metal around the drivetrain, as we are out of Wisconsin in the rustbelt!

I had a 94 K Blazer with 245K. It now has nearly 300K. Original engine, 1 rebuilt trans.

88 Chev 1500 long bed. Started my business with it. 348,000--same engine, rebuild tran. Could not think of junking it. Donated to local high school where it still does odd jobs.

I had 280,000 on a 91 s10 with the good old "Iron Duke" 2.5 four cylinder. Original drive train. Ran like a top, traded it in on a new one. Still running for the guy that bought it, I see it around town.

"89 Chevy K1500, extended cab longbox. When I bought it on an auction, the odometer was on 259,000. When I drove it home, I found the odometer was STUCK on 259,000. From "88 to the early "90"s, they were known to do that. In Nebraska, no odometer statement is required on vehicles over 10 years old, so I had no argument. By the time I got home, I was convinced it was worth the $800 I'd paid for it anyway.

I fixed the odometer, but I don"t have a clue how many miles it actually has on it. It runs and drives great, and does everything I expect it to.

I once had a "76 Chevy C2500 with 358,000 on it. I knew where it came from, and, in fact, my wife had driven it once when it was only 6 months old. I sold it to a farmer who had blown the engine on a Ford with over 400,000 and needed a pickup in a hurry.

A guy that installed my septic system in 1999 had 280,000 miles on a early 90's PU. All original and no rebuilt motor or trans. He ran 20w-50 in it or something.

347,000 miles on an 88 S-10 pick-up with a 2.8 liter. Wouldn't get out of it's own way, but it would run forever. I eventually sold it in 03 and bought my Dakota. Probablt run the wheels off of it too.

Younger brother has a 93 S-10 with a V-6, motor has never been apart. 600,000+ miles and he drives it 150 miles round trip to and from work each day.

I have a 95 F350 that has 285000 on her and still runs like new. I bought her new and will drive her till the wheels fall off then maybe rebuild her? Bandit

89' F-150 5.0L w/5 spd 221,745 miles so far. 1 water pump, 1 distributor, 8 spark plugs and a wheel barrow full of rivits and tin patches.

wow! now you all got me to thinking my old stuff is still about new lol i got 125 on a '83 chevy c-30, just repainted that one this weekend, [ workin paint job, but she looks brand new from 20 feet away , and i got 220000 on a '94 dodge diesel, got a old tractor or 2 but only one has a hour meter on it and it broke in 1970

TurboDieselRegister had a story a few years about a fellow who hauled trailers cross country and had better than 1,000,000 miles on his one ton w/Cummins.

No record by any means but my '89 F 250 w/460 and 5 speed has 219,456 on it and is still strong enough to tow a 9600 lb 5th wheel RV Trailer where ever we want to go.Including Colorados Wolf Creek and Poncha Passes which it will do in a couple months. Coming home it will in addition pull Az's I 17 Camp Verde Hill.JH

Amazing how the gasoline engines since late 1980's are reliable and lasting like diesels.
Maybe even better than the latest diesels with the ultra high pressure injection systems, particulate traps, glow plugs and urea injection.

wear is inversely related to rpms... when they put in overdrive, the engines started lasting much much much longer as now they turned the same rpms as a diesel at cruise speed. Oil has improved vastly also.

86 f250 ford diesel, 380,000 before I got tired of looking at it.It did not have a turbo and when I started trying to pull 15,000 lbs, I couldnt get it over 50 and you could not see the road behind me.

Still have an 85 with 80,000 miles at the ranch with a welder mounted on it.

I dont have a truck, but my 2000 Chevy Impala has 280,000 miles on it. Surprisngly easy to work on only major thing Ive replaced on the engine is the water pump.

One of our yard trucks at work has an engine out of a Dodge. Cummins engine had like 400000 on it when the mechanic pulled it. We run that yard truck about 6 to 8 hours a day, and its been in there for at least 9 years now.

A guy here in town hauls trailers all over the country. He had a 99 Ford F350 dually. He had 630,000 on that one before he bought a new one. He sold it to the neighbor who put a new injector pump on it and resold it. That's been three or four years ago. As far as I know,it's still on the road.
The wife's 02 Ford Explorer Sport Trac has 240,000 on it right now. That's even more than my 85 F250 diesel. I've got around 189,000 or so on that one. I've heard of those running up into the 300s without any problems.

I put a 5.9 cummins in my ford f350. Motor has 780,000 miles. Still runs good and only thing ever done to it was pump and injectors.Motor is on its third truck though.

I had a 91 S-10 that I bought used (it was a couple of years old). I was driving home from work a couple of days later and the odometer jumped 2000 miles by the time I got home. Made me wonder how many miles were actually on the truck. Took it to a dealer to get it fixed and they wouldn't let me drive the truck until it was.....but they did reset the new unit 2000 miles less than the old.

I think I ran into someome who knows that guy. Was delivering to a factory around Lima OH and was bragging on mine at 400k. Said he knows a guy runs trailers out of NE Indiana had 1 million on his Dodge 1 ton single. Said Dodge took it back from him and gave him a brand new dually. Daid that motor had never been opened up.

Guys, 335,000K on a 97 F150 w/ a 4.6 V8, 4x4, my old pickup and 185,000K on my 01 F350, Crewcab, 4x4, w/ a 7.3 DSL.

John A.

Not a truck, but I have a Ford focus at 461,000 and still running well. Tinpeckers are at it though. Had a 79 f100 which was a great old horse even though I used it quite badly.

Last F150 I had was a '88 model with the V8 and it had going on 500,000 miles on it when it was totaled by an idiot driver. My latest one is an '87 with the 300 inline 6 and it's going on 400,000 that I know of....and that's with the speedometer/odometer being dead for nearly 2 years worth of driving.

I have a 1987 Ford Ranger out back with 468,000+ on it. The original engine (2.9L) went 461,000 without ever being opened up. I bought it from the original owner with 27,000 on it.

my 1997 F250 7.3 powerstroke has 289,000 miles on it. Put a new transmission in @ 100,000 miles, other than that everything is still working fine.
