Allis D17 Series 3 Three point hitch

I was wondering if any knows a good place to look for a drawbar attached three point hitch for my Allis. I just bought it last month and from what I have read a drawbar attached three point is better than a snap coupler hitch. Feel free to give any input. There is nothing on the back of the tractor accept the upper lift arms so I guess I would need the whole assembly. Also does any one know the color code for the orange paint? I would like to refinish some of the parts on the tractor and repaint them.

Thanks.

There not all that hard to build if you have the parts and the know how. I build a good number of them and have done so on my D-17 and a WD45 and a C. The C was probably the hardest one to do but hey they all work. You need a heavy piece of iron for a bolt on cross bar that bolts to the hitch, on the ends of them you have pins for the 3 point arms to hook to and then you need adjusters that hook to the lift arms all in all not a hard job if you can weld and cut iron

The drawbar attached hitch will not give you any weight transfer (Traction Booster), but the Snap-Coupler version will, since it attaches to the SC bell, and operates through the integral spring system. If your drawbar system was attached to the original Snap-Coupler drawbar, and the factory bail removed, it would allow for weight transfer. May not be an issue, according to your needs. The correct color code for a Series III is Persian Orange #2, since it is after 1960, and before Corporate Orange.
