That translator box that translates every word that you hover over into Spanish, started popping up on my computer today. Soooo...I went in and changed the settings so it translates to Swedish now. If I'm gonna soak up a different language,it might as well be something other than Spanish. I can get that from watching Mexican soap operas on the dish.

The recipe for lutefisk is easy:
1. Get a piece of codfish.
2. Soak in lye for awhile.
3. Remove from lye, discard. Discard the fish, not the lye- Use the lye for removing paint from tractor parts.
4. Don't put the fish in your compost pile. What did your compost pile ever do to you to deserve that?

My apologies to any hardcore Scandehoovians I may have offended- but my BIL is about as Norwegian as you can get (still has an accent, even though born in Wisconsin)- and he can't stand the stuff.

Mike,

Tried it once...at a church dinner. Couldn't express my true thoughts while there, though.

Your recipe sounds a lot like one I've heard about carp. Roll it in cow manure, bake for 2 hours at 500 dedgrees, throw away the carp and eat the cow manure.

I remember my lil home town in North Dakota . The store there had a big crock of Lutefisk sitting out front all the time . I was the victim of my grandma cooking the stuff quite a bit . IT ranks right up there with Kim shi

Up here in Pa we bake em on a board ,preferrably a soft wood pine works well.simmer fish and board for a day, then in oven you bake for two days on low heat, season to taste , throw away the fish, and eat the board.
