My H starts and runs great if you pull start it BUT it woun't start by cranking with the starter.
It has a new wireing harness & a Great battery. It cranks just fine. We tryed a coil off a running 300 with no change. We tryed a new condenser with no change. There is power into and out of the Coil. The fuse is good.
Now i'm out of things to try so i come here asking for help.
Please and Thanks

A bad starter will draw so much juice from the battery it will starve the coil and there isn't enough voltage to fire it right. Have your starter checked to see what it is drawing. A worn bearing/armiture/dirt/corrosion can cause this and it can short the starter as well. You are set up for positive ground/pos ground coil etc?

The Starter spins fine.
It is 6 volt Positive ground (orginal)
Can i check the voltage at the coil ?? how much needs to be going into the coil??
Thanks
Dick

Is it still as-original 6 Volts?

What is the voltage at the coil's "ignition switch side" terminal with the ignition switch "ON", points closed, then check while cranking.

WHAT are the two voltage readings?

Check your spark by pulling the coil wire out of the cap. Spin it over and how the wire about 1/4 inch from the block. You need to have a good blue/white spark that will jump at least a 1/4 inch . If you have it there check all the plug wires to be sure you have a good spark at them. If you have that then your problem could be fuel or low compression. You need a min. of 90PSI compression for one to run well and start.
