Rain beautiful rain!!

I know some of you are really suffering from too much rain, but it hasn't rained here like it should for 8 years. Well, the last couple weeks around here that has changed, and it is pouring here right now. My hay has not looked this good in many years. And I would way rather have rained on hay than no hay at all. Keep sending it my way, I am loving it. First crop already produced more hay than I got all of last year and I am less than half done. YEE HAWWW!!

So pleased for you!

We are very dry in N.E. Tx. First hay crop was less than half what we normally get. Got a 60% chance of rain for Wed. Hope we get it.

Wow, what a difference location makes. We have gone from drought in the past few years up to and including this past April, to being completely flooded out in May (and continuing today with another few inches of rain in the forecast). Just over half of the seeding has been done in our province (Saskatchewan) to date, and half of our hayfields are under 3-4 inches of water. For those fields not submerged, it has been too cold for the grass to do much in the way of significant growth. I may be doing our first cutting in August this year. Just a bizarre year all around the continent.

We're getting plenty rain here in S.E. Ohio. Just enough to keep us from finishing our 1st cutting. I have 3 more fields but it rains every 3rd. day, so I guess I'll wait another week, maybe it'll hold off long enough to get it put up. The garden's doing great tho. Have a good day. Keith

Same here in NE IL. No hay cutting here at all yet!
I was hoping to cut the "weeds" out a tad early, ....guess I'm gonna have weedy hay!

we are getting some rain in north dakota too. have 50 acres of corn left to combine and 160 acres of soybeans to plant yet. have to wait another day.

We did first crop around may 16th. We are about ready to start 2nd crop. 1st crop was huge. We are getting good rain. I am in sw wisconsin about 30 miles north of the IL border. Where are you located?

At least you've got some up. I'm about out and went out 2 hours ago and baled 8 bales of wet hay before it started raining again. Had to roll them pretty small so I don't break something trying to move the 10 ton buggers. The rain has knocked it down so bad we're gonna leave half of it in the field when we can finally cut. Whenever that is.

Hey cj, I'm glad those storms are finally tracking a bit farther North. I wish they would start missing me on their way though. If only I would have known it was going to rain almost every day in June, I would have made more hay in May. Looking at the 7-day forecast, my second crop may be ready by the time this rain finally lets up. Still, it's loads better than your drought, so I should shut up.

yep it rains almost every day down here south of clayton, memorial weekend we got almost 4" in 45 minutes, the ponds are filling back up again,we just might get out of this drought yet, have a good one.

At the rate it's going, we'll be able to do 1st and 2nd crop all in one- Our hay has been knocked down for a good 1 1/2 weeks and looks like it could be 2 1/2-3 before we can get in to bale it.....

Turn on your vacume on Friday to pull the rain up your way for the weekend will ya?

I've been trying, but so far not much luck getting it to turn North West.
