I ALWAYS enjoy your posts and photos. When I was actively trucking I made many, many trips to Avondale, PA, the Reading area and Lancaster area...never got tired of scenary.

Have you thought any about using "mushroom compost" as an admendment to your garden?? Stuff is "steril"...ie. has gone thru a heat and is NOT a source of weeds.

Keep the photos coming along with comments.

I like your masonry reinforcement for peas to climb on. I use jute cord. I drill holes in the wooden stakes and run three rows of cord. I attach the cord with small zip-ties through the holes. It might be time for a "dumpster diving trip."

I scrounged some plastic small-mesh--3/16" squares--from work before I retired. I ran out of chicken wire to protect my beans from rabbits, so a strung some cord and draped the mesh over the cord. Worked perfectly. I'll be able to re-use it next year.

My spuds are starting to flower also, as are my snow peas. I have 5 or 6 tiny zucchinis, about 2" long and my pickles are getting an inch long. I just planted my third corn patch, about six, 40-foot rows. My broccoli is getting small heads and my cabbage is stareting to make heads too. This is my best garden I've ever had.

Maybe I can post a picture sometime, once I learn how.
