Kubota BX2200 4WD

Does anyone have an opinion on these tractors?

I am considering one with a 60" deck for my wife to mow with.

That is all it would be used for.

Thanks for any help!

I have had one for eight years and it's bullet proof! I mow app. 5 acres of bahia each week and have 1200 + hours on it. I also roto-till app. one and a half acres, several times a year. One bad spindle on mower (my fault) and one leaky hyd hose. Change filters and fluids by the book. You could NOT buy mine.

If all that your going to do with it is mow the lawn why would you consider anything other than a zero turn. Kubota builds some good ones. Mark

I agree that if you are only mowing with it then get a zero turn for $5k or less. Save the money you would have spent on the Bx2200. Zeroturns are the way to go.

Been a KUBOTA dealer for 28 years. Served on the development group for the BX. I am assuming you have found a used unit. Check and make sure it has the updated power steering lines. Early lines had heat problems. Kubota replaced them at no cost to the owner. You will like the unit.

I've got one too (6 years) and agree bulitproof. Oil filters and normal maint is all I've had to do. Have a loader, rototiller, bush hog and 54' belly mower.

Smooooth to drive with power steering and the single hydro foot pedal (big improvement over the 2 pedal JD's). Slightly longer wheel base gives a better ride. FWD axle design allows for sharp turn's.

Starts on the coldest days to plow the driveway.

Best of all a beer holder to keep you cool in the summer.

Zero turns are great but I'll take 30 seconds longer on the BX2200 any day.

Can't go wrong with this one.

I have owned a BX 2200 for 14 years, and it has been a great little tractor for me.
I got mine with a front loader and a 54" mower. The hydraulics are good for it's size and I've added a few implements to it.
I have a friend who has one with a backhoe, but it's too small to do any more than downspouts.

I have 1560 on the hours and with oil and filter changes, it runs great!

I have had my BX2200 (2001) for 11 years and just had one of the power steering lines fail. Do you know if Kubota is still replacing these early lines with know heat problems at no cost to the owner.
