Rain Season

I don't know about you guys, but here in southern Mi, it seems as all it has done is rain for the past month.

From Oct. to March it was so wet you couldn"t do anything.

March and April were so windy (frequent 30+ mph days each week) you couldn"t get the spraying done. But at least we started drying out enough to work the ground.

Then April was 10+ degrees cooler than normal so you couldn"t get anything planted.

May was just the opposite. 10+ degrees warmer than normal and 5+ inches behind in rainfall.

We"re still running 10+ degrees above normal and by Thursday, we"re supposed to start seeing 100+ degree days and no rain in the 10 day forecast.

Doesn"t look promising for the hay season.

Yep,mid Michigan too. It did straighten up enough over the last 2 weeks to get the corn in,but I'm sitting here again this morning waiting for the rain to stop so I can do chores. Better be careful about complaining. You know as well as I do that we'll be complaining about it being too dry a month from now.

Send some of it up here in northern michigan. Have't had rain for weeks here. Keeps passing south and north of me. Going on almost 3-4 weeks without. Corn could use it BAD!

At least you aren't on fire yet. That Camp Grayling fire burned up to within about 200 feet of my brothers cabin. Burned 3 trailers behind him. A cabin right across the road from my mothers burned. It came right up under her plow truck and travel trailer right next to her cabin, melted her mail box and burned everything across the 2 track.

I agree. We do about 900acres of hay and we cant even get started. Makes ya worry. Lets just hope that it stills some this summer, just not to this degree.

We are going to the farm tonight and cutting our coastal field tomorrow.

We will get one decent cutting from it for sure, but don't know about a second with it being so hot and dry early.

We'll post pics next week.

The weather around here has been so assed up the past 5-6 years that I think the government must be in charge of it.......
