can anyone tell if this alternator has a internal regulator? i cant find the model number on it.

Yes, it does.

its in the farmall H shown in the first picture. i just took it our to look for the model #. the farmall has a key &amp; solinoid instaled now and im looking to put the old starter button and kill switch back.
 
should the diode look like this or is it different?it has one grayish band on one end. if not is there another substitute or do i need to find another diode? i heard you can put a toggle switch somewhere?

Jeff is right. It does. The way you can tell for sure is the small D opening on the opposite side of the battery wire hook-up with the red insulator. With the vehicle running at 1500 to 2000 rpm you could put a paper clip into that hole about 3/4 of an inch and touch the case to full field the alternator and therefore check alt amperage output. It needs to be 90% of rated output(at least for cars). Don't full field for more than 10 seconds or the alt can be hurt. Gerard
