Can I put a Western Snow Plow on the Tractor Front

Would it work 'ok' to take off all the metal harness and springs, some parts of the frame are broken, and weld brackets to accommodate the hydraulic bucket arms.
Blade & plow are in good shape,
I'm getting tired of backing up and getting a kink in my neck with the snow blower.

As long as we are on this subject. I have a friend working on something like this. he is fabricating parts to: beef up the front end of a ton pickup to accomidate the weight of a 8 foot snowblower. making mounting brackets. putting a combine engine and hydro unit on skids to put in the box. mounting the final drive hyd motor to the snow blower. he has quality frabricating help., but will it work????

That would be great - but $ $ $ could kill that.
I'm not too swift here, what is a line shaft and how do you connect it to the pto?

I know it looks bad but the bolts are temporary
untill I get time to weld every thing up. The only bolts that are not temporary are those on the lift arms. Why because if I need to put my bucket on all I need to do is pull the pins on the blade and take out the 4 bolts on the lift arms. Thin bucket can be put on Real easy.
The blade is off of a back drag blade.6" wide.
It works great.

Tom a front mounted snow blade is handy. The only problem is how deep of snow you get. If you get very deep snows you will not be able to hold the front end of your tractor straight with the blade angled.
As for the other guy mounting a snowblower on the front end of a tractor. When you turn the blower around on the front you need to reverse the direction of the PTO shaft. The mounting is not too hard to do but the drive is a bit tricky.

Airports do it all the time with heavier trucks. He'll be way over his front axle rating with that setup. Prepare for bearings.

There was a commerical light steel unit sold like that for a while but it didn't have enough power for serious work.

I have a 9 foot Western hydrotrun on the loader arms of a MM U302. I welded a 2 X 4 square tube upright under the western blad at about the back of the swing arch. On the back of the tube I added 2 brackets on each side to accept the loader arms with attaching pins. The lift chain went to a hook on the loader cross bar. I disconnected the bucket tilt cylinders and use those lines to power the hydroturn. It can really stack snow.
