We are pushing along trying to get finsihed planting beans. Got started late yesterday morning and it is supposed to rain monday. If things go without to many problems we should be fine. So I decide to plant for a while last night and nick and travis went to do chores and take care of a couple of new calves. I told them to take wrigley home and drop him off so he can run around a little when they get everything taken care of and I will keep planting. I got tired and came home about 10 last night. Of course wrigley meets me in the driveway and jumps in the truck with me. It took my breath away and I jumped out of the truck. He has been skunked! It was horrible. Worst ever. He ran around the yard trying to get it off. The whole barn lot smelled of skunk! I left my clothes outside and I left him outside because he was SOOOO bad there was no way I was doing anything with him last night. He is much better this morning but a little upset with me over his "camping out" last night. I will let him air out today and try to get him cleaned up tonight. Oh that darn wrigley!

SKUNK REMOVER mix in equal parts, dawn dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soada, mix in water and give wrigley a bath, he'll be fine i use it on at least one of these dogs aroud here about once a week,

Back when I was about 16 I was walking my dog out along the edge of our woods. She started digging at the end of a hollow log.
Got down to look in the log and we both got sprayed by a skunk.
To this day I can still smell that stink. I don't remember how I got the smell off. Dad was laughing his you know what off.

I set a trap once in a hole at the base of a tree. Caught a skunk. Had never seen one up real close for obvious reasons so the head sticking out of the hole looked like a cute baby skunk head...........
Got ahold of it and when I pulled it was like a magician pulling a hanky out of his pocket........

Got sprayed pretty good.

Killed it and decided the pelt would look nice.
We lived in a split level house where you went in the door and up a few steps to the house or down a few to the basement. Had my skin all wrapped and in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer in the basement.

Don't try this at home,,,,,,,,,,,

Butter, opened bread, and some other things in the kitchen had a skunk taste as did everything that was in the freezer (at that time meat was wrapped in white freezer paper)

I hear Kruser has tomorrow off. Perhaps if he and Glenster don't have any plans to haul horses to OKLAHOMA they would stop by and give Wrigley a bath.
It's just a thought.
