Here in Colorado it is time to plant the garden.
3:00 PM Sat. Greeley Co
temp 89* F, humidity 12%
Wind 22mph with gusts to 30.
I don't think it is a very good day to put out tomatoes
Oh yea, we had frost last week.

Yeah, we had frost last week too up here in Conifer. We gave up on tomatoes and just go for the flowers on the deck. We can cover them when it snows or frosts. Hopefully the snow is a thing of the past. Really windy today.

I have one in my garden a little over 3 foot tall and it has green matos on it. So yep I got one heck of a head start on you but I'm also way south of you

I'm putting mine in tomorrow, along with peppers, cantalope, zucchini, and herbs. Beans and corn are up and squash and watermellon are just poking through.

How about if we just say maters? I luv em but I"m allergic to them along with wheat bread and chocolate. The good lord must have something against me. I love growing them. LOL

I put out 3 plants including one hanging upside down. Putting miracle gro on once a week. Is there some trick (I read somewhere) about pulling off some of the buds? If so, how and when? Mine are new plants with no tomatoes yet but the few buds I've seen where there were 3 close together, I pulled off the smaller one. Do you wait till you get tomatoes before pulling the buds? Thanks guys.

My Tomato plants are 5 feet tall and 3-4' in diameter. I have the best looking plants that I've ever grown. BUT their are not setting much fruit. Any body have any idea what that's about?

Sounds to me like a lack of a fertilizer balance or too much nitrogen. Possibly weather related too I suppose.

If it were me I would used a micro-nutrient foliar spray early in the morning so it absorbs well.

I have had excellent results of flowering plants with the use of Spray N Grow which is just one brand available. The field trials are pretty impressive. Link for tomato trial below.
