I know this is way off topic here but it"s almost time to plant my pumpkins. I was wandering what herbicide can be used to keep the weeds out of the pumpkin patch. Can any one tell me? Any information is appreciated, thank you! John B.

"Command" I applied 1 pt. to the acer after planting last year and it kept them clean till about the end of July. I didn't touch the ground with a cultivator but later found out I could have done so. There is another chemical I'm going to mix with it this year but I'm not a 100% sure of what it is. I'm thinking it was Duall but have to check with my dealer. I've tried Culbrit before with no luck. Command is the first thing I've found that would work. I live in mid Mi. and plant about the first week of June.

Brother used a product called Curb-it or something to that matter. It's a pre-emerge and is specifically made for vine crops like pumpkins and squash.

Sandea is a good herbicide for pumpkins. Can be used pre and post emerge It is expensive! $$$ Command is pre-plant incorporate only! I have also used Prefar and was not happy with it. Post is good for post-emerge grass control. We also rotary hoe and cultivate
