O/T: Backhoe brands you suggest

Anybody have a preference on types of late 90"s and up 4WD backhoes? We use one to push a snow box in the winter (rent one) and to do other general work. It has been a John Deere 310G for the last few years, but normally I rented a Case before that. Seems like a New Holland is a cheaper machine to buy, but the loader doesn"t look as strong maybe?? I really like my New Holland skidloader though, it"s built great. Just wondering what you guys think. I guess there"s Caterpillar to throw into the mix also.

Deere or CAT- Case stands for Can't Afford Something Else
And get CAT controls, if you're used to them, you can run an excavator, too

Ive had most of the name brands. Just stay with the 310sg. If you look around you will find a good deal on one right now. They are the best machine in my opinion and easy to get parts for should you need any. I had 7000 hrs on my last 310sg and all it needed was a new fuel pump and couple hoses.

I got a John Deere 110TLB a lot of tractor for the size. Loader uses standard skidloader bucket attachment. I welded a skidloader plate on a cement mixer. It sure is handy.

I worked for a general contractor for near 40 years until I retired last fall. They own several Cats, a bunch of Case, and several JVC's. They used to own a couple JD's. Operators preferred the Case or Cats. Mechanics liked the Case and JD's. The guy who wrote the checks liked the JVC's.

I've got a '99 Case 580. It's been stone reliable. Avoid ANY hoe that's had a hoe ram mounted on it for any length of time.

In the construction industry full time and I gotta say, the John Deere backhoe's are worth their weight in gold. I'd go with Cat for a loader, excavator or big dozer. International or John Deere for a small dozer. And hands down John Deere all alone for backhoes. Had them since the early 80's

John Deere backhoe's have it all over Cat, Case, JCB, any of them

Run them a large part of my life. John Deeres, Case, JBC they are all good but dont over look the Fords, a 555B was the best power and a very reliable machine. The price on used fords are also good. Avoid old beat up machines, repair bills are spendy.
