Had a wedding yesterday in Arkadelphia Arkansas. Drove down on Thursday, came back today. The flooding South of KC does not look good! One place (sorry, can't remember as the day was long) the water was WAY before the sign for the river, or creek. You folks OK? Greg

Ya we have been getting way to much. In April we where behind on rain and now we are ahead on rain. Can't win for loosing some times. But at least now if it drys out we should have a good hay crop

Thanks for the shout out Greg, ya its a real wet son of b!tch here, with more tonight and tomorrow! I would not know how to act if I did not have to put up hay and plant beans at the same time.... as for the corn growers here in Missery their motto is plant early and plant often.

You were probably on hiway 71 north of Jasper. It's still raining tonight. That's been the norm for the last few years. A couple years ago it was over the road at that point. The big hurt will be a bit further down stream near the Oklahoma line. Places along the river will get washed out. Like some other places the big 'They' are beginning to stop rebuilding in the flood plain.
I'm sure Bronco will fix it. It will be called 'Floodcare.' Every one will have to buy flood insurance even in areas where two dogs might visit the same post on a hilltop.

We have had two killed this week, one the hwy undermined and the road collapse under him and he drowned and a young girl was going to grandma's house(stayed there a lot), county road and drove into a flooded road(dark and it had come up about 4ft in an hour)called 911 but drown before they got to her.

We were holding our own alright here in south
central MO up until yesterday. We were pretty dry
before all this started several days ago, so we
had a lot we could absorb. Early yesterday
afternoon we really got hit with a downpour and it
seems most of it ran off. Ponds were full to
overflowing, ditches at the edge of the road were
deeper and wider, and I guess I'll get the box
blade out for the driveways. The work we've been
doing out in the gardens with adding organic
matter to the soil, etc, etc seems to be paying
off. In the past after a storm like that, I have
always had soil repair work to do in the gardens
due to erosion. There was very little detectable,
and all that sediment settled in dry ditches I had
dug just for that purpose.

I have not heard about any injuries or fatalities
nearby. I am sad to hear about the other people
who were hurt and killed by this weather....

I thought you meant like on a float trip with canoes! I went to a graduation at Steelville this weekend. It bills itself as the "Float trip capital of the world"

Camped down on the Huzzah creek. Man did it rain Saturday night.

It has been unusually cold and wet all across MO.

Yes! The Elk Fork of the Salt River is lapping at its banks, and that was yesterday. Don't know how much we got overnight. Predicted 5 inches and backed off to 3. Down at the river the side channels have flodded and I watched one of local kids bow-hunt for carp. Got some too! Our ground is so soaked I won't be able to get on the tractor for a week :(.
