Hey all:

It seems with my air conditioner running in 80* weather, engine water temperature seems to run 15-20* warmer, any idea's?

The duramax engine runs around 180 in the winter and around 210 in the summer. This is normal for the truck, I wondered the same thing when I got mine.

Have you thoroughly cleaned the radiator and condenser fins? Condensers are supposed to get hot and usually sit right in front of the radiator and, usually, have their own fan. Most often this fan is electric. Is that working? Is the engine cooling fan working? Is the engine coolant and oil level correct? Oil cools as well as seals, lubricates and cleans.

I haven't really ran mine in the summer, i bought it in october and just started driving it again in hot weather, noticed temp gauge wasnt where it used to be. I'll keep an eye on it, thanks.

That is normal. The heat transfered to the a/c condensor is drawn through the radiator and in to the engine compartment. With all the stuff crammed under the hood, and with very little area for it to get out, the engine will run warmer..Just make sure the radiator and condensor are clean and free of bugs and dirt.
