Tractor Sales

I was doing really well at selling some tractors until the last couple of weeks. If I make a $100 on them I send them down the road, but boy not lately.
Lately I haven' t even been getting any calls on good cheap stuff. This economic road to recovery is going to be a long old road to walk. Is it just me or are any of you guys seeing what I am?

I can't believe the tractor prices (used but not antiques; haven't watched the antiques). I never dreamed I'd be able to afford an air conditioned tractor but made a deal on one yesterday; bout 100 hp that runs great for less than 5 grand.

I've been noticing the same thing with used cars. Tried to move two of them this spring. Both black-booked at $6000 plus. Sold one this week for $3800, and cant move the other one for $3000 if my life depended on it! But people are snapping up $60,000 F150's like they're going extinct!

There's a 706 and a 986 just down the road from me. 7 is open station, 9 has a cab. Both appear to be between decent and above average, tho I havent stopped to see them in person. The 706 is running 75hp for $6500, and the 986 is turned to 105hp for only $7500.

That's why I like to play around with pickups. You can always sell them. This spring I ran a sharp '85 Chevy 4X4 on Craigslist and sold it for my price within a day.

On the other hand, I recently listed a sharp, 90K '99 Olds 88 for $700 below book and it ran the entire 30 day listing without a single serious response.
Still haven't sold it.

Lew, that 9600 was built at 131 though most dynoed out at about 160. A twist of the screw puts you over 200. Have fun!!

It's WAY more tractor than I need but smaller ones with a/c cab are quite scarce it seems. I just enjoy cutting & square baling a little hay but I've always wanted an air conditioned cab due to the dust & 100+ F heat around here. I'm looking forward to driving that big hoss around the field. :)

Reminds me of a song......"We've Only Just Begun" to pay.....

Hope it works for you, I know I couldn't bale hay without a cab anymore. I've choked on all the dust I need. With prices like that, a tractor could almost be...... disposable compairing to the cost of a new one or overhauling a used one.

Yeah me too. there were only 3 to chose from on craigslist for between 5 & 10k; this one far better looking & running than the 10k; third one I never got a response from the seller. I'll definitely keep yall posted once I get it here.

Well the beastie got here today; bigger than any tractor I ever drove but handles nice. Compressor is the problem with the air conditioner; O'reilly is supposed to have them in stock locally for 134 bux; I'll see tomorrow. :)

I'd insert a pic but can't figure out how to do it.
