Wondering how the planting season is going for everyone. I'm sitting in the house, watching it rain. I finished planting corn on Thursaday with 2/3 of it up 2-4". Decided to hold off on beans do to the colder weather we've been experiencing. Just curious to see how things are going in your area.

Here in Central NY the grain crops and seedings are in for the most part. Oat fields and winter wheat looking good so far. Corn planting ahead of schedule by about 10 days, although cold weather with snow and rain made farmers take a break. The guys on the middle ground (heavy clay) are lucking out. Been a dry spring with a lot of wind. Sometimes they are planting corn end of June if lucky. Clear Alfalfa looking real good, about 1' high. I saw one farmer mowed down about 20A hay today. Maybe planning on plowing field under for corn but it was real steep ground so unlikely. Maybe he just wanted to be first, or didn't like the color of dandilions.?
Our regular window for corn planting here is 5/10-20. Still got time. Suppose to drop to mid 20s tonight, with snow posible tomarrow AM.Really wacky spring. (extreams no consistancy)

MO. got most of its corn planted, but now it has been so cold and wet that it sure doesn't look good.

some beans went in last week (Central MO.) and now it has rained and rained on them, probably have some replants.

It is unusually cold here today. Rainy and miserable. Hope I dont have purple martins dying again cause there are no insects flying.

Most of the corn is in around here and up. Down to 29-30 with a heavy frost the last two mornings. Been too darn wet to plant beans, and I'm glad I didn't earlier when it was dry. Just waiting now.

Corn planting is pretty much done here in my part of NW Iowa and a large part of it is up. The frost got some of the two-three leaf stage corn and it's flopped over like a limp rag. The growing point is still below ground so it should be OK if the weather warms up soon. Corn that was just spiking through seems to be OK.

Bean planting is way ahead of normal with some farmers done planting. Jim

Here in Maine it got down to about 22 deg. F last night. This after one of the earliest springs we have ever seen. Hay in the fields is a foot high already. (good for here)

We have Tomato's, peppers, salad greens, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and basil in our high tunnels but have not planted anything outside yet.

I haven't planted a bit of corn yet. Won't take long to hit everything with the disc and plant it when the weather straightens up,but been sitting on my hands since it's been raining every third day or so since the first of the month.
