Tires

I need 3 ribbed front tractor tires. Mine are 4.00-12. All I see advertised are 4.80x12. I need both front tires and am wondering if these 4.80x12 will work and how much bigger they are. Thanks.

A lot depends on what they go on. Those 480s will be if I remember right about 3/4 of an inch wider then the 4.00 are

Thanks for the quick comeback. These tires are on a David Bradley Tri Track. The tires are pretty close to the upright front spindles but should have enough room if there is only 3/4 inch wider. Thanks

The wider tires would make steering much more difficult and strain the machine.

Actually I think they will be the same size, just the 4:80 size is a trailer tire while the 4:00 is tractor tire and just in the way they are measured.
