MM 670 clutch

I just got a MM 670 gas and the clutch pedal is
very high before it releases. It also is a little
hard to shift gears or get out of gear. Is this
a sign of the clutch needing replacement? I have
to check the adjustments but I don't like the way
this feels. I think it needs a clutch. Am I miss-
ing anything? Thanks.

yes I think you are.....
we had a late model 670 super (like '72 maybe)
maybe ours was just out of adjustment but it was like that for 20 YEARS WHILe we owned it - we had a loader on it also...... but there was a LOT of times, if you push in the cltuch you have to pull the torque lever back in order to take it out of gear -
going up a small incline it was almost like one of those subaru "hill holding clutches" it won't roll backwards (or get it out of gear) until you pull the torque back

With the torque in high it locks the ta in and can make it hard to get out of gear when you stop moving. If you run it long enough you will learn to change gears fast right when it stops rolling, or just pull the torque back and it will stop alot of the grinding.
