I've been looking for these bags of corn for a couple of days, the last bags of corn for 2010.

When I ran out of corn last night it was 9:30 and I had 7 acres left to plant. Since I had planted untill 11:30 the tuesday night I was tired and I quit and went home.

After chores this morning I went and made short work of the last few rounds. This farm is the first farm outside of Farmington and located on the bypass around town, if you are familiar with that road.

This is the first corn I planted back on April 13. Dont tell anyone but this crop is off to a tremendous start allready. I looked it up and last year we STARTED planting on May 11. What a difference a year can make. I would say 98 percent of the corn is planted here and some guys are planting beans.

The forecast is for rain. Took this pic going to do chores tonight.
All is well on the farm.
Calves are coming and doing fine. Crops are off to a good start. Weather has been very nice. Wrigley is sleeping at my feet and a little rain tonight would be just fine with me.
Hope you all are enjoying the nice spring as well.
We will be on to bean planting next week. Then hay baling and next thing you know it will be harvest, time flies when you are having fun!!!!

Dad planted the sweet corn this afternoon to finish up the corn planting for the year today also. I'll be home tomorrow night so if it doens't rain we will probaly start on the beans on Saturday. Heres hoping for a normal and quick harvest

Tuesday he was planting on the Rt78 and I was across the road planting. It was nice watching dust fly as all I could think about was him trying to plant that last year and me getting to pull him out twice in about a hour. The radar is looks more like rain all the time.

Over here in Missouri we are getting your rain, our rain and the other guys rain as well. We are in dire need of some dry weather and also some heat. The corn here is just sitting. I have corn planted about the same time as what is pictured that still hasn't come through the ground yet. It's close, but not there yet. Mike

I hope things get better for you Mike. Things around here have really been perfect. Just enough rain to keep things growing, nice and warm for the most part and nice windows in the weather to get things in the ground

I planted the last of my corn yesterday as well. Last year I was DONE by April 24th, but this year I have a new to me planter and was making sure everything was all ready to roll. I have to say I absolutly love this 7000 with the 200 monitor, I didnt love the price tag on the radar I needed to buy for the tractopr, but when divided by the acres I will plant with it over the years it was cheap insurance!

Glad you checked in and keeping your nose on the marker!
Yeah, I know where that sign is - gonna have to look for you again this fall. This year sure makes a difference doesn't it!
